McCrea One Four Nine Charity Golf Day Raises £5,330 for Alzheimer’s Society
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the McCrea One Four Nine Charity Golf Day on Thursday 15 May, helping to raise £5,330 for our Charity Partner of the Year, Alzheimer’s Society.
Held at the stunning Duke’s Course St Andrews, guests arrived in the morning for a welcome breakfast and warm up on the driving range and putting green to ensure there was no rustiness for the round ahead.
The format for the day was Texas Scramble, where all players in the team would tee-off and would pick the best drive. Other players then pick up their ball and play their second shot from the position chosen and the procedure is repeated until the hole is finished. Each team member had to have at least four of their tee shots chosen, which meant that there were some nervy tee shots at the 18th!
There were various activities across the day to help raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society, including a charity raffle and auction, penalty bunkers which required a payment to charity if your ball landed in one, and there was a chance to win a brand-new car with a hole-in-one on the 7th hole, which unfortunately no one managed.
Congratulations to team Radisson Hotels, who were the winners of the day and took home their winner trophies and a Castle Stuart Golf Club fourball.
A special mention to One Four Nine Wealth Financial Planner Charlie Rossiter, winner of the Longest Drive competition on the day.
